We have decided to cancel the event due to too few participants.
Nevertheless, we would like to share the gathered insights about managing Russian business divestments.
If you have any subject-related questions or need assistance in carving out the business unit – feel free to reach out Helle Hee and Katharina Oglotkina.
- Since February 24th almost 1,000 international companies have curtailed operations in Russia, although only 60% of announcements converted into deals, the percentage of closed deals is rather low.
- Most Danish companies with a presence in Russia have decided to withdraw or suspend their operations.
Key challenges international businesses are facing with:
- Deal structuring and fair business valuation for the purposes of withdrawal
- Finding a potential buyer
- Time-consuming process of carving out deeply integrated businesses
- Unclear rules of trademarks and technologies usage after a potential divestment
- Getting a pre-approval from the Russian Government
- Local practicalities, such as changes in laws and interaction with authorities
